How ordering works
There's no online payment on this site. You order here, and you pay the artisan directly, usually by UPI.
Placing an order
Every item listed is made and ready to send. When you place an order, it's confirmed straight away and the item is reserved for you. If your cart has pieces from several artisans, each one becomes its own order, because each artisan handles her own payment and delivery.
Paying
Within 24 hours, the artisan contacts you to agree the final shipping cost and a delivery date. You then pay her directly by UPI. Your order page shows her UPI ID and phone number.
Please pay within 3 days of ordering. If an order isn't paid by then, it's cancelled automatically and the item goes back on sale. If you need more time, ask the artisan: she can give you 3 more days.
Shipping
We deliver anywhere in India. The shipping cost shown at checkout is an estimate based on your PIN code and the size of the parcel. The final amount is agreed with the artisan before you pay. Pickup in Kolkata is free.
Cancelling
You can cancel at no cost any time before you pay, from your order page. For example, if the final shipping cost is more than you expected. Once you've paid, please talk to the artisan.
Handmade means unique
Every piece is made by hand, so colours, sizes and patterns vary a little from the photos. That's part of what makes each one yours.
Damage in transit
Fragile pieces are packed with extra care. If something arrives damaged, send the artisan a photo within 2 days of delivery and she'll arrange a repair, a replacement or a refund with you. A coordinator can help if you can't agree.
Custom pieces
You can ask for a piece made to order. A coordinator passes your request to the right artisan, who replies with a price and a ready-by date. Nothing is owed until you accept the quote. Some artisans may ask for part of the payment before they start.
